Energy-Optimal Speed Control for Autonomous Electric Vehicles Up- and Downstream of a Signalized Intersection

Signalized intersections can increase the vehicle stops and consequently energy consumption by forcing stop-and-go dynamics on vehicles. Eco-driving with help of connectivity is a solution that could avoid multiple improve efficiency. In this paper, an eco-driving framework developed, which finds energy-efficient speed profile both up- downstream signalized intersection in free-flow situations (eco-FF). The proposed utilizes signal phasing timing (SPaT) data are communicated to vehicle. model used combination time-dependent auxiliary consumption, implicitly incorporates travel time into function validated real-world test data. It shown that, using eco-FF framework, vehicle’s notably reduced.
